GDI Maintenance: Capitalizing on New Industry Standards and Practices
Presented by Casey Greseth
Sponsored by
Over the years, automotive repair shops have had to adapt to changing vehicle technology in real time. Shop owners, service writers, and technicians have created and recommended maintenance plans for their customers in order to deliver the absolute best reliability, performance, and efficiency from these ever-evolving cars and trucks. Meanwhile, the OEMs have been slow to recognize the shortcomings and inevitable consequences of these changes, and instead have pursued marketing strategies such as “low cost of ownership” to sell more cars. However, the tide is finally turning. Corporations that have been reluctant to promote good maintenance routines are changing their guidelines and embracing a healthy approach to fuel system maintenance. In this class, we will discuss some of the recent changes to these guidelines, trends and best practices for servicing fuel systems, and the monetary potential of a better approach to vehicle upkeep.
